hey all
i have a tiny 1mm radius hole in the low point of my exhaust can... i dont know if its meant to be there as a weep hole or if water has grouped there and corroded thru... either way, its leaving a trail of sooty water behind me when i first take off and its pretty annoying on a newly surfaced driveway

does anyone else have that tiny hole or is it just corrosion? i dont know whether to plug it up or leave it

cheers

hmmm im pretty sure that wasnt the intent, that is if they DID drill the hole in it and its not corrosion... its right at the lowest point of the exhaust can... so if anything, they did it to drain any condensation in the exhaust i guess.... and at the moment ints draining onto my new driveway when i take off

whats the best way to post pics on these forums?

cheers

Well its definitley not ment to be there...just use some muffler putty or the likes to fill it up. . I have a small dent in my exhaust from when I brought it, and im hoping to somehow smooth it up with some muffler putty when I get some time. Then spray it silver.

Thanks for the offer dean... i should be able to find some webspace if i need to post pics tho...

if i just plug the hole up, am i kind of... ignoring ... the 'water in the exhaust' problem? or is it normal to have a bit of condensation in the exhaust? im pretty sure that the water would get blown out during normal riding....

cheers

errr...dunno why'd there would be 'water' in the exhaust in the first place? I thought it would just be vapour......

On the topic of vapour...anyone thought of adding one of those flame throwers to a fzr...All they are is a coil with a spark plug..and when u hold a button, the coil allows the spart plug to spark repetitavely, causing the vapour in the exhaust to ignite....neat trick at the lights I reckon....teach those cars not to tailgate :p.

Chiangstar - you have an aftermarket exhaust, correct? I would suggest contacting the manufacturer as it may be there for a reason...

Dean..I heard with any carboratored engines...the flames can be as long as 2-3 metres..lol.

I know a guy thats doing one on his car by himself..so ill see how well he does that first....it might look a bit ugly havin a spark plug coming out the bottom of the exhaust though? lol
