Hey guys, so im considering a new CB125e just for commuting. I currently ride a 81 SR250 to work everyday(40km round trip) reasonably flat roads. The SR is getting to the point where she needs a lot of work, its got 130,000kms on it - I've put 40,000kms on it since owning it. I own many small capacity road bikes/dirt bikes so im used of riding small capacity/'underpowered' bikes - I have big bikes to take out on the country runs on the weekends and watch a speedometer move as fast as a tacho.

So I was in the Honda shop the other day getting the missus some new bike gear when I saw the CB125e, of course the salesman came over and talked it up, so I got a brochure and went home. Straight onto the net to try and find out some pros and cons about them. I found a few reviews on 'product review.com' a few realistic reviews, a few sooks that expected it to be a sports bike. I did find a site that someone made for CB125e only that had reviews/maintenance etc

My question to you guys, anyone here own a CB125e or have ridden one? I plan on taking one for a spin this weekend.

I don't have the 125e, but own 4 of the older ones and have nothing but praise for their ability to do big miles if looked after properly.

Doing the learner course at botany all they had was these and honda automatics. They are easy to ride. What I like most about them is that the instruments actually tell you what gear you're in, in case you forget.

A workmate bought one a few weeks ago- loves it so far. He said it keeps up with the traffic up to an 80 zone (that's as fast as he needs to go).
I had a look and the build quality looks pretty good, especially considering the price, $2500 ride away.
Looks like a good little commuter bike.
