Heads up people. HINTERLAND residents claim thrillseeking “hoons” are pouring oil on a Gilston road and then using the oil slick for drifting and drag racing. The Gilston and Advancetown Rural Fire Brigade confirmed that about 20 litres of diesel was poured on the surface. Their warning came after a crash involving two motorbikes and a four-wheel-drive on Saturday. http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au...g/news-story/f66074f9e4e674228593c824e79e703f
The media has got it wrong AGAIN! This is an episode of idiots being... well idiots. This is NOT drag racing and I will forward this on to ANDRA so the media man can try to put them right, but they usually don't care. You want traction in drag racing, not slippery road. Lucky for me as I rode through there two weeks ago in the rain, the day after driving through there with my daughter and two grandchildren.
Murdo, you know today's media isn't too interested in the facts, just sensationalism..."Breaking news, drag racing idiots pour oil on roads." Tools!
Well I sent the link to ANDRA and the media officer contacted the reporter, Ruby Spillman, and must of had a 'good' chat to her as the reply was three paragraphs long and in each she appologised for using the term 'drag racing' and has promised to use 'illegal street racing' in any future reports. Yes, a win against the media.
