My 1000 has a 5 gal (19 L) tank and I can go about 140 miles (225 km) around town before I start thinking about reserve/gas. Spirited distance rides can be upwards of 170 miles (273 km) per tank pre-reserve.

I used to get 170-200km before reserve depending on riding style.

About the same mpg as the FZR but the tank is bigger, Tim..

It has a 17L(4.5us gal) tank with a flashing warning light at 4L(1us gal) and a steady warning light at 1.5L(0.4us gal) and I regularly get 250+k(149miles) to the first warning. That makes about 19k per litre (42.5MPG)

I should get 290k to the second warning and 320k to empty

You can buy after market pipes i am grtting one to moz and to supple and fite under 300 bucks. For your top speed you can change your front sprocket i think 2 more teeth if the one that is on there is stock and it should make some changes but you will lose your bottom end as well.

Same here. I top up the tank just before 250km and have never seen the warning light come on.
