    Guys,

How much RPMs does your FZR250 take off from stop? My bike seems to need 7K ~ 9K rpm to take off from a flat ground. Are all FZR's like this? I just had the bike serviced. It definitely runs better now, no more noises, no more stalls (not yet proven, stalled once on an uphill), no more "throttle not working".

    Things the mech serviced

    Carbs
EXUP tune (cable not replaced though)
    Some needle thing replaced.

What could be the cause of this? Im thinking air filter? I still havent done, change oil, air filter, fuel filter, and oil filter.

    Thanks. =D

my fizzer can take off at about 4-5k revs although ive heard others that say you can safely rev them to about 6-7k safely when taking off

i duno bout others but i find riding slow pretty hard (not coz im a speed demon grendal; and garfield will attest to that) but i reckon i need at least 6k to get off the line easily.

i think its all down to practise.
wat do u mean by needs 7-9k? does it stall if its lower?

i usually ease the clutch out n giv it a lil rev once it starts moving..so barely 3k.

but if i want to take off a bit faster, then 4-6k seems good.

even on slopes 4-6k seems fine on my bike.
i say practice ur slow riding so no throttle just clutch control n rear brake. then u should b able to take off with minimal revs.

im with garfield, i barley go over 2-3K.. when starting.. if i had my revs up to 7-8K that would be a fast take off.. ur bike shouldnt be stallin if ur reving to 2-3K and lettin the clutch go slowly.. knwoing your friction point. unless its mechanical problems.

Maybe air filter? I sorta doubt it though...unless its clogged like a bitch...I generally gun it off most lights...(to piss the cars off) So I generally rev it to around 4k when I take off...But if it was a slow take off..id be same as dean and garfield and about 2,3k.

well, i just noticed that it takes off at 4Ks, its just that, the friction point of the clutch is way close to full open-clutch. so i guess, the cluthc needs to be adjusted?

guess it doesnt hurt to try.
if its not slipping or grabbing then try adjusting the cable at the lever first.
    its pretty simple.

i barely go over 3-5 K, if i want to take off fast, i rev it to about 7-9K.
