Hi all, i'm trying to find the engine number on a mates FZR.
I looked on the right hand side just above the transmission, and indeed found a nice rectangle flat spot about 2cm x 10cm, with the letters '1HX' hammered into it. But i couldn't see any other letters after the 1hx - are the other letters on a sticker or something, or are they meant to be hammered in?
I understand that all the engine numbers on these bikes begin with 1HX, so i think i'm looking in the right spot?

    thanks for the help.

    Hi,
Thanks for that link. I have had a look at that previously and i think i'm looking in the right spot.
Maybe this picture will give you the idea of my predicament better - as you can see, in the spot where the engine number is supposed to be, there is only the '1HX' prefix, the rest is empty:

    Any ideas whats going on?

Hey Okee, thanks for letting me know its not unusual. What did you have to do to get it registered then?

It was registered with the engine number given as 1HX. A previous owner had registered it, (in Ireland).
