What's going on fellas, I'm an American transplant going to uni on the Gold Coast. I picked up a 1987 Honda CBX250 the other day as my first motorcycle ever. I wanted to ask, what's the best Q-Ride course for the money available around Gold Coast? Cheers
Absolutely bonza cobber. Wouldn't be dead for quids. Always good to see another banan bender even if it is a ring in seppo. Always good to do the Q-Ride so you can avoid a Lara's. The course costs bucklies too. I did mine in Brisbane and was in and out in half a day. Worth every penny. Welcome by the way. Cheers Jim
Cheers for the welcome mate! I understood the second half of that, but what specific q-ride course did you do?
mate to the real world and enjoy the biking ..... we demand pix of your bike or we will make u eat 10 meat pies ... cold ones
Welcome to the forum. CBX250 are good bike, simple and pretty reliable and cheap to run. Perfect machine to cruise around the Gold Coast. Nearly forgot, welcome down under. As stated, we thrive on photo's here.
gday mate! Welcome! I did my qride at hart Honda at springwood they were fantastic i did a 2 day course as i was a rookie! Much cheaper then team moto.
Here's my bike, picked it up in Brisbane $800. As for my riding experience I have only been on a motorcycle twice, and never left 1st gear and took turns veeery slowly.
Nice looking bike, price seems good but does it go??? Not registered, was a roadworthy supplied with it? Sorry about all the questions, just curious.
It runs and everything works on it. All electrical is good, starts up cold fine, it does shift smoothly, I just didn't ride on it for long. As far as I can tell it will pass roadworthy.
Hey Xenoith There are a few Qride schools on the gold coast http://www.toprider.com.au http://www.ama-qride.com.au http://www.stayupright.com.au Give them a call and suss out what they have on offer, I would probably look at a course rather than a 1 day test so you get the right skills to rid eon the road. That's a nice looking CBX, score for $800 Cheers Chris
Sorry I didn't get back to you Xeonith; I just got locked out of the forum for a few days. It seems like a few guys here have answered your questions though. I think the courses are a lot more organised now. I was out at Pro-Honda getting some parts recently and there was about 20 people all there doing a course and the setup looked quite professional. I did my course many years ago through a guy I found on the net. I had already been road riding for more than a decade but I was too hopeless to ever get more than a learners permit up until that point. We did some bike control stuff then went for a ride up to Mt Glorious, had a cuppa, rode back and that was it. I think if you are new to road riding it's probably wise to do the whole 2 day course though. They teach you how to handle emergency situations, positioning on the road, low and high speed bike handling etc.
Heard plenty of good things about Pro-honda and Hart Honda. Definitely do the full course, it will be worth it for you. Welcome and good luck
Bit late to the party but I will say welcome to the forum mate. Nice bike you got there. I actually learnt how to ride on one of those back when I was 13. Perfect place to start.
