Anybody completed this work themselves?  My bike is definitely out of warranty so no free help there.  I have called a local workshop (other than supplier in Brisbane) and they were reluctant to touch anything other than their own bike models - without some sort of information to install the component.  Being that the work is on the gearbox I understand, and I do not really want to do this myself and get it wrong.
If anybody has worked on this, would like to know the difficulity in doing the work and time required to be put aside to complete.  As it stands I can live with holding the clutch and for the amount of money i was quoted per hour with no known amount of time to fix the issue, I may live with the problem until i have another bike so that I can work on this in my 'spare' time.
    Thanks.

Thanks Chris, I thought Teammoto were the only ones up here until they stopped.  Good to know that there is still a reseller here, will give them a call.

Talked to Sinh as well, I'm going get Shawn from what use to be Scoot2Commute to do the work next week.  Just talking to him and its going to be a bit more than a weekend job, so not going to try this myself...hopefully all the cost will be worth it for the ability to have to hold the clutch all the time at stand still.

that would be fantastic.would show how long it takes and materials used. i still believe it is a safety issue and all the bikes should be recalled and fitted as per car industry.

Just had installed and boy is there a difference. I cant believe i put up with the shifter for so long. Best update you can do to the series 1 air cooled versions after a change to the sprockets. It makes the daily commute that much easier.

Damage was 450. However that involved a little more work and seals. Would think it would be a lot less for a water cooled version. Shaun fixed up my chain, removed a link, fixed my clutch up. Bike now wants me to just ride it to the shops for milk...

What risky said...selector stopper $29.95RRP + delivery.  Make sure you tell them if you have an air cooled, as this is different to the current piece of hardware in the water cooled versions.

doing the job now and is a pain. clutch cover off, then take out6v clutch plate bolts, then central nut using air wrench, clutch out, remove bolts around housing and IF YOU ARE LUCKY the bolts can all be removed. later bikes have agouge near the swing arm to remove last bolt. mine does not!!!!undo engine mount bolts and motor will not move until exhaust taken off. thats where i am up to. next post tmr.

another few hours.. remove bolt through swing arm and motor, remove cradle holding radiator, jack under motor while buddy leans on bike and jack motor carefully to remove bolt. does not move so take off exhaust header pipe and jack again. eureka a little move. remove last bolt on sideplate near swing arm and take off side plate. remove allen head bolt from selector and use spare allen key to hold down lock that is spring loaded. pull gear change rod slightly towards you and selector can be wiggled off. new selector on, allen head bolt tightenned and locator held by allen key removed. side plate back on and bolts fitted.tighten and particularly ones near swing arm. swing arm pivot back in place and bolt refiitted and 4 engine bolts located after juggling with jack.next part tmr but is taking me longer than i thought. oh for the old hondas of the 60,s.
