I looked at the Hysoung GTR25oR a while ago when I was getting my LAMS.

They made a rather significant update to the GT250's a few years ago because they had a bunch of problems. I am pretty sure the 08 models are not the revised ones.

Terrible rear brake problems, clutch cables snapping, tyre issues (factory) and a few other things if you google reviews and forums on the bike.

However to their credit they are a very affordable 250, they are quite large and many people enjoy riding them. You will probably not have to be as fiddly as you do with the ZXR as well.

They can be hard to sell as they don't particularly hold value well due to the low price bought new.

My suggestion would be to look at the market value of both bikes, consider what you want and make a decision after reading around. Maybe take it for a test drive too if he'll let you. Because you may find after a few K's on it you will miss your Zxr really fast.
