I have been on the prowl for a 600 or 750 as I want to be able to ride 2 up with my wife or kids, I was trying to buy a Gixxer 750 SRAD or a ZXR750 but they kill my wrists on long rides, so I decided to find something a tad more upright. I found a 2000 model ZX6R on Gumtree for $2250 and Phil and I went up Monday night for a look. I took her for a strap on Monday night and it runs really well, it only has 51,000 kms on the clock.

The seller didn't have a RWC but there is some rego on her, so we struck a deal and I bought the bike home minus the plate. What was agreed was that I would fix the broken indicator, install a new battery and tee up a RWC, then show the seller the RWC and he would give the plate and what is left of the rego.

Phil helped me out on Tuesday and sourced the battery, I had a ZXR250 indicator in the spares box, and it was a match so that was fitted up, we also did a oil \ filter change. I noted the front and rear brake pads were shot so some new metal gear pads were fitted. RWC is booked for tomorrow.

108 horses from a 600, should be a fun bike, the panels are tad rough so the long term plan is a repair and paint them as well as finding a decent after market exhaust, then it should be a sweet ride.

here are a few pics of the ZX6

I think he will be so far ahead of me.....it isn't funny. I will probably be in the servo getting fuel as mine is chewing the stuff up at an alarming rate?????

The zx6 looks so much larger and has an additional 10hp over the zzr600.

She passed rwc today and I collected my plate, I just went for a test ride. The power difference to my cbr 400 is crazy., its hard to fathom that an extra 200cc's doubles the power output.
