Lane Filtering?

    Quick question; is lane filtering legal or illegal in NSW. No one seems to know for sure.

    Everyone I spoke to says it's illegal but everyone does it.

    pretty sure its illegal, im sure it would say on the RTA website or in the handbook.

    I think its illegal, but i dont see why it should be a problem, its not like ur taking up both lanes

    There are no specific laws against lane splitting. However, there are about six or seven different laws that you are breaking when you do it (such as sharing the same lane as another vehicle, overtaking on the left hand side, etc).

    One thing to keep in mind - I see a lot of young people & harley riders lane splitting, but I rarely see the older / more experienced crowd doing it.
