    G'day all
Does anyone know of any sort of luggage rack to suit a fzr 250 3ln. Also it would be good if gearsack bags would fit the rack.I cannot find any web site that sells the rack aswell as the bags. Even a design and where it mounts would be good. Ta ...................

Looks have very little to do with it.
Luggage racks should be considered a safety item Jeesh. Even though i do ride with a backpack, every time i do i wish i had a tankbag or a luggage rack instead. The most i'll ever take on a ride day is a camelback with water in it. My wallet, mobile, and camera all go in the storage compartment in the bike.

Have you thought about what would happen in the event of an off and you landed on your back with a backpack on? That drink bottle in your bag would not be very nice when your spine was being bent around it.

    Anyway, back on topic...
I occasionally see a 2KR FZR250 with a luggage rack on it parked just the other end of my street; but have never taken a closer look at the make or mounting points of it. I assume it somehow bolts on or slides onto the pillion seat tubular frame.
As i mentioned above, i'd recommend looking around at magnetic tank bags. They are usually cheaper than luggage racks, and when you swap bikes there's no frame to mess with fitting it onto a new bike. Only downside is that many new bikes have plastic tank covers; but then you can usually get straps to go with the tank bags.

Agreed with the tank bag - very convenient and much cheaper too. Get an expandable one and you will hold almost as much as in a rack bag. A tank bag = $150. A full ventura rack (new) will cost about $300, plus the bag. Not sure if they fit on the fzr250 though.

I have a rack on my 1000, well, it isn't on there anymore. I cannot use it because of my Pro-Oiler setup. The spot that I used for the pump and the oil container does not allow me to use the rack.

Boz, didn't your YZF have a rack when you bought it?

I can take pics and measurments if anyone is interested. If not, I'll ebay it in the coming weeks.

yes - my yzf has a rack (and was there when I bought it) made by Ventura. I was curious to know what these were worth so went searching and found out the cost. I have also adapted it to allow for a lockable top-box to be fitted (which is great - fully water proof and secure). So now I can use the soft luggage (which holds a lot) or the top box (a bit smaller, but more convenient for day to day).

On that thought - I just checked out ventura's website and they do offer a rack for the fzr 250 (interestingly though they highlight the 'fzr 250 2kr' and 'fzr 250 rd'. Never heard of the fzr rd...)

Pic of fzr 250 with rack:

Thank's for all the reply's. I will check out the ventura web site and see what I can find. I will be doing a fair bit of travelling with my work so I will need an actual luggage rack to fit everything on. As far as the looks are concerned I won't be able to help that as my fizzer is my only means of transport at the moment, not that it's a bad thing.

Mine looks similar, but actually bolts under the back portion of the seat, not underneath the sub-frame.
