Is McNamara Park a dangerous track? That's the 2nd fatality they've had there in the last 2 months. http://www.speedcafe.com/2016/01/04/rider-killed-in-mcnamara-park-crash/ Condolences to the riders' families.
Having ridden there a fair bit. I would say no. They are very safety conscious and the track is in good nick. I believe it is as we speak being widened and resurfaced (not in response to the accidents, it was planned beforehand) Have heard a bit of chatter on the subject and no one thinks the track is to blame...
Thanks for the feedback. Never been there myself, so was just asking the question. Have you ridden Broadford? I rate that track a 2 out of 10 for rider safety...run off areas consisting of rocks. hard clay and drainage ditches...ouch!
I have not ridden Broadford, and hadn't heard only feedback on it. Mac Park has pretty good runoffs and sandtraps for a smaller track. I have spend a bit of time going cross country there, and only gone down once (mainly due to inexperience). All tracks regardless of the safety features are hazardous if your heads not in the right place.
