    Hi All,

Was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the durability and manufacture quality of their stock throttle cables. I have recently (today) had my 2nd brake while in traffic, and to be honest i'm getting sick of having to pay $40+ for a cable that will last less that 1000kms!

    :BangHead:

Anyway nice to meet you all, looking forward gaining some knowledge and giving as much as I can to this forumĀ  :)

    Welcome meadia
I haven't heard of that before did it snap in the same place? It sounds like there maybe something damaging the cable and not just a faulty cable. If its only lasting 1000km I would be talking to the dealer about warranty.
Hope you get it sorted soon

Have already spoken with Stoney Creek and Motorsport Importers (which I believe to be part of the same business) who have informed me that cables are not covered under warranty. Spose all I can do is replace again and try to figure out if something within the throttle housing is damaging the cable...

Yes they are the same busness.
There nust be somthing causing the damage to the cable and if there is a fault with the throttle housing they should be covering it under warranty.
Did the cable break in the same place?

Seems like it has broken in the same place, the only problem is that the local Megelli dealer is no longer stocking the brand (due to all of the problems from pre 2009 models) and the only option is to freight the bike to Sydney. The throttle housing and grip does look a bid dodgy (could just be cheap build quality), although it's difficult to see what exactly the cable could be rubbing on to cause this extent of wear.

So Graham Morris isn't selling Megalli anymore That is a shame. I did take a CFmoto 650 for a spin not long ago and it was a lot of fun.
Who may be stocking Megalli next?
As both of you are locals we should try and catch up for a ride when everyone is back on the road.
It may pay to have a whinge (read threaten to take it further) Motorsports imports and try and get a new throttle Assembly under warranty.
There is no way a cable fitted correctly should brake that quickly.
