count me in braah. I just read the article and it makes my blood boil it really does.I get the impression sometimes that people get let off from killing bikers because motorists must think we are asking for it or something by riding a bike.Either way its not right. Maybe we shold rip burn outs in front of her house

Here is a letter i have just passed off tothe Age, Herald, Australian which were the newspapers i could find that had any refernce to this event

Dear Editor

The recent death of a gentleman traveling on his motorbike in Wallan, recklessly killed by a drunk driver who failed to render any assistance even after noticing what she had later described as “red paintâ€

Yeah its pretty pathetic isnn't it. And what I dont understand...if you caught drink driving in the first place...isn't your lisence suspended straight away???

This woman was well over the limit...kills someone..and still gets to drive?

They take the license away, but if it is a necessity for the person to continue their livelihood they can have it re-instated for that purpose only.

that is such a crock, im not saying the because i feel threatened on the road as a motorcyclist, that comes from the perspective of someone concerned about there being a **** driver out on the road who it seems values her job more than the life she took away and shold herself accept the fact that driving never was a right to begin with but something that can be taken away if you fail to comply with the standards and expectations we have. I could understandif we were talking about a loss of demerit points but even my mates who have been busted for no more than 15kmph have eventualy lost their license to these pssy fines and are given no recourse what so ever because it affected their jobs., they had to quit. have they been busted since? nope. Thats a consequence of the lesson they learnt from losing their driving privilges and job.

it is a bit unfair tho...
as sandog already pointed out u could lose ur lic for much less than that.
her bac level would have been thru the roof!
2 bottles of wine, 2 pots of beer n another glass of wine....

ive had a friend whose dad was the only dirver in the house, was caught drink dirving, n loss his liscense for 12months. the family had a home business n needed the car for transporting stuff so just imagine wat happened wen he lost his lisc. he was in the wrong but how how does this constitute not the livelihood of their family?

anyway...she must have been quite drunk to not know red paint from blood or pieces of flesh hanging off the car....it also mentioned she didint get all the way home coz damage was too much?

this is quite appalling of the jsutice system we have in vic...so ill be goin to the rally as well...

safe riding pplz..

good letter mate - pretty much sums up my feelings exactly - couldn't believe it when I read in the paper yesterday that this woman could still be allowed to drive - I mean she couldn't have done anything worse in my eyes - driving while pissed, killing an innoncent road-user, failing to stop or help etc. - what the hell is going on???

has the justice system gone mad? i too had to give up a good paying job because i lost my license. My license was suspended due to fine default but i didnt recieve the letter. got pulled over on the easter long weekend on my way to canberra. they let me off and told me not to drive. so i called my friend to pick me and the car up. but how was i gonna get home. so foolishly i drove back home the following day and was pulled over again. so the judge disqualified me

My condolences to the family of the poor soul who so uneccesarily lost his life due to stupidity and selfishness.

Peace Bigkev.
