    Hi i have a problem with my bike. My battery in my fzr250r has been going dead on me during rides.

    After making it home i would charge it and then the same thing would happen.

    I thought it was the battery so I placed the battery in another bike and it worled great for a whole month.

    I got bored of the other bike and decided to give the Fzr a run.

    I placed the battery in the fzr she started fine and then after 10 minutes ito my ride the instruments light got dim and the bike started to stutter. I new it was the batter so i turend off my headlights and rode with only my park lights on, when i turned on the headlights the bike would start to stutter so i turned them off again and headed home.

    What can be the problem

    Is it the rectifier or the

    Voltage regulator, Altenator, or rectifer. Only three things it could be.

    Try this out: http://www.electrexusa.com/Images/fault_finding.pdf. It is an excellent 'electrical fault finder' sheet, and guides you through each step individually. Requires a multimeter, and assumes that you know how to use it and general (dare I say basic??) knowledge of motorcycle electrics. My housemate used this when he had similar problems, and ended up tracing it to a faulty rectifier.

    The problem with my bike seems to be the stator <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> the most expensive.

    Ive been looking around on ebay and found some used stators the fzr600 do you think they might work in the 250?

    What I meant by basic is that as long as you know what a wire is, and how to touch a multimeter to a wire, and some parts on a bike you would be fine.

    And I have no clue about the 600fzr -> 250fzr compatability. Check the part number for yours, and then see if it matches the part number from the 600 and if they are the same then there won't be a problem (you may need to contact the seller to get this). If they are different then you may need to look into it a bit more.
