Okay so the one thing you don't do when jump starting is cross the wires ( now I've realised duh dickhead should have just roll started it ), well I did that and I herd a crack and yeh now I no that its ****** , the mechanic told me if I did that I should just send it to the scrap heap , which would be a bad option since i have brand new in the box red bull fairings for it -.- i love my bike I don't want to send it to the wreckers , how much would it cost to repair it worst case scenario everything electric is ****** (which I think it is ) and yeh give me some hate I deserve it i feel so stupid-.-
I'm a pest controller not a mechanic give it to me simple .

    Hey Jacob
Sorry to hear your having problems, I have a few MC22's so hopefully I can help. If you crossed the positive and negative on your battery, then I would assume you have shorted the electrical system. it could be a shagged CDI and voltage regulator\ rectifier.

First things first, there is also a 30amp fuse near the battery It is located near the battery, on the left side of the bike, with a red plastic cover, under a rubber cover. There are 2 fuses there, one in use and one as a spare. Change the fuse, also check your other fuses as it may have blown. If that doesnt work then move onto testing \ replacing the regulator \ rectifier ,CDI, and strater solonoid.

Where are you located ? I might be able to point you in the direction of someone with spare parts.

    Xcitebikes.com.au has regulator rectifiers - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Regulato...orcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35cd21dcaf
There are genuine Honda CDI's on ebay - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-CB...orcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338354bab4
We dont do hate here :) , Where are you located ?
    thanks

    Chris

Most mechanics dont give a toss about 'older' bikes so we just ignore them.(the mechanics not the bikes)

As Chris has said firstly check all the fuses .... thats what they are for , to protect things against a "fault"

then start looking at the wiring and opening up connectors to see if anything is burnt.

Then its just a case of hopefully checking those main components for 'damage' as mentioned

+1 what everyone else said. Even if you had no reg/rec etc you could find alternate solutions.
First, find out what is damaged.

They will change your fuse and charge you $5 for the fuse and $695 to fit it.

Never take a vehicle of any description to a mechanic and say 'its broke can you fix it ' :commando:

Most things aren't that hard to fix. A little common sense & ask a lot of questions on forums like this & you can pretty much solve most of the problems you will ever have :)

:headbang::headbang:Okay so quick re run on what happened , but I'm hoping the same people as last time comment again ,so you guys will no what I'm talking about , anyways I shorted my bike whilst jump starting to be left with flashing wierd headlight and not being able to rev it .
Okay so here is where I'm at ... Mechanic didnt do anything (i think) .I checked the fuses , main and what I think was the secondary , ill upload a picture hopefully you can tell , me if was the right one both were fine !! Only thing i noticed was a little bit of coroison on the fuses , nothing major , could that Effect anything ? I wouldnt think so . So thats crap... I'm pretty sure this is where my free time become mr fixit time , if their not gone what the heck do I do now , do I now have to start replacing everything electrical ? What would you do if it you were wearing my boots .? Also , quickly mechanics took my tank off ? Not sure which tube to attach the fuel , would assume the big long one but would like to be sure , ill also upload a photo. Thank you for any contribution you may have , I'm on a sinking ship.

Clean those fuses and the holders to make sure you are getting full current.

Hahaha oh god here we go , i used the smallest battery I could find in a little hatch back, from what I can remember , it's was barley running with the head lights flashing to the sound of the engine going ,you would try to rev it and it would get to about 6 thousand rpm and like it will cut its self out and drop back down to low revs again

I'd suspect the regulator/rectifier if you're seeing your headlights flashing/strobing or going significantly brighter at higher revs - remove it from the loop by disconnecting it and see if the bike runs with just the battery and no charging circuit

    peace out

    Hey jacob

I would agree with Aky141 and ruckusman that you may have fried the regulator, send a PM to xcitebikes as I think Omar can source after amrket regulators quite cheap

    thanks
