    That's the problem, you can't get the emulsion tubes from China, but they have the needles....

    That description on the Yankee site with nickel plated explains the problem/symptoms well.....

    I think there is a solution to that, recondition the emulsion tubes, but since needles were not readily available I did not pursue it any further.

    Does the factorypro.com have FZR 250 tubes? Looks like they only have FZR 400 and up......

    Not really any FZR250s in America .... from memory they had the same tubes from another bike with the same carbs .... their website is junk and hard to search ..... it would be posted here somewhere , probably in this thread ? :oops:

    I think they were stainless steel and crazy expensive

    Sleeve them. There are a heap of issues that need to be dealt with but it looks doable. Brass is effin horrible in the tribological sense, it destroys everything, so getting rid of that is a good thing. Really pointless fitting these new expensive parts when they just wear out again. The Mikuni emulsion tubes go up in 5 micron increments, but I have never seen reamers in anything less than 10. In any case that is probably not an issue either.
    Those needles shown here on eBay look to made of brass or at least have some coating on them to give that colour

    The Yamaha uses different needles for cylinders 1 & 4 vs 2 & 3. Anybody have the Fizzer Emulsion Tube numbers handy?

    I do have need for a small precision lathe for something else I am doing so good excuse to look into it.

    Mikuni use a number and letter for the size. The 8-N is a 2.59mm bore.
    The other number I believe is the model.

    It would be nice to solve this so that having to replace the damn things is extremely infrequently required, i.e. NEVER

    The zeal version obviously solves the issue so lets see what can be done in the same vein as a permanent soluition

    The zeal slides and springs would be a solution. You also get the benefit of the slides being rounded. Question is, do they fit the larger bore of the 3LN carbs and work without any issues?

    potentially the upper lip which exhibits the wear could be brazed with the softest braze available then reamed back to spec - I need to look down the barrel of one to check this possibility though

    They'd have to be done in a mill or lathe if you can get them

    3LN6 & 7 have the improved design that keeps the needle centered ..... and I wonder wat this needle is made of?

    the possibility of an adjustable reamer that small is slim, however a non adjustable reamer, perhaps custom in that diameter should be doable, it's not quite swiss watch territory miniature precision wise

    Precision reamers and yes they come in 0.01 increments and yes would use a small precision lathe.

    They might be nickel plated too, but you need the slide's to go with them as Linkin mentioned to give that blue retainer something to screw into

    I've spent a couple of hour's looking at this other site in China, it's pretty cheap too even cheaper than Aliexpress, they have FZR250 3LN 5CT9 cnc needle's (copper) for about $7.45 each plus post

    When i've been looking there today the live help lady keep's on popping up on the screen which is becoming annoying
