    Hey guys,
Just a quick question. I bought a new front sproket for the bike the other day and when I took the old one off I noticed it was alot thicker.

So I screwed the retaining nut back on and checked what the minimal distance was for the width of the sprocket. It measured to about 9mm.

I measued the width of the old sprocket and it was about 9.5mm which is fine but the new sprocket measures to only about 7.2mm. Even with the washer this is not going to be enough before the nut bottoms out, meaning there wil be about 1.5mm-2mm free play for the sprocket to move around.

Everything else about the sprocket is fine (ie: spline, teeth, diameter etc). I considered buying some thick washers to put either side but was not sure how safe that would be.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or can anyone offer a solution. I have put the old sprocket on for the moment however it does still need to be changed.

    Thnaks
    Nathan

I might get the washers for each side to help keep it centered
