Gday Fellas, Glenn's the name. Just thought id swing in and introduce myself. I got recommended to this site from one of your members ( Moo ), after having excellent dealings with him on some Fzr fairings. Im located in Ballarat, Vic, and am currently building an Fzr 250 3ln up as a racebike. I bought this bike 5 years ago for the missus, but she wasnt too keen on clip-ons, so its sat in the shed ever since. It has taken me 5 bloody years to get the thing going, after the previous owners had a dealership rebuild it, and they put it back together with the timing notches way out of whack. Ill put up a few photos in the coming days of it, and ill also have to harass some of the Guru's that are on here too, in the distant future. Its blowing a hell of a lot of white smoke, so yeh, probably have to sort that out..lol. Anyway, thanks for letting me in Fellas, Glenn.

    Welcome aboard!

My fizzer blew smoke when I first got it, new filters and fluid flush & change, plus riding it daily and through the twisties on occasion has sorted that out.

You would be well advised to spend about $300 on the following for your carburettors, once you've identified what model they are:

    http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/yamaha-fzr250-model-information.230/

You can buy new gaskets from LiteTek (site sponsor, Blair AKA maelstrom) http://litetek.co/

The keyster carburettor kits can be purchased from http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ just do a search for 3LN

If you are after a new exhaust pipe I can recommend the JRE accessories one

Please never trust a mechanic with these bikes unless they know what they are doing or you need non-engine work done (eg fuel filters, tyres etc)

Many things to do before I will pull the head off and inspect/change the gasket + head. I want to replace all the cooling hoses and have the radiator pressure tested.

I still have to completely dis-assemble my carbs to replace all the o rings and gaskets with the litetek ones I have sitting here, and replace any more broken/worn carb parts since I only did the needles and emulsion tubes.

The rear shock is squeaky and needs greasing, too. @GreyImport did that on his.

Also want to sand blast and repaint my wheels, and repaint the tank.

Sounds like you have a swag to do mate, once again the old funds come into play though don't they. If you need any carb spares, drop me a msg, i somehow managed to end up with 3 sets of carbs, which i made 1 decent set...lol. The rest of the bits are in a box for spares, gathering dust. Just more crap gathering dust...haha.

I don't really need a spare set for my bike, but Brian (GreyImport) and my father Andy (Grasshopper) are in the habit of collecting fizzer parts
