Guess what guys. I have just picked up a 2002 model R1 for only $3000. I'm cheering.

One of my mates is about to go thru a messy divorce and sold it to me cheap. I dont think im confident enuff to ride it yet and i probably wont ride it for a long time but for 3 grand, what have i got to lose!!!! She can sit in my garage for a while, while i'm developing my riding skills.

So excited, just had to tell somebody, haha

Hey you want to sell it to me for $3500? Your still making profit and i'll actually be able to make good use of it.

$3000? Thats the price of an FZR! Want to sell it to me for $4000? I know its unlikely, but I'll try anyway.

OGGY KNOBS = Frame Sliders.

You'll get used to the weight / size / power quickly and then you'll never figure out how you managed all this time on the fzr - as good as the 250 is... Don't be afraid of it all - just respect it! That is the advice I can give from my upgrade (though I went to 120 hp, not 170 hp).

As for the frame-sliders - a good idea. Go to a trusted accessory shop and ask. Oggy knobs are a specific brand - essentially they are pads that attach to your frame and protude from your fairing so that if you drop it the fairing will not touch the ground. They do not deter from the aesthetics much at all really.

Well, that isn't 100% true Boz. The frame sliders are just that, to protect the frame. If you look at how high the sliders mount, you'll see that it doesn't protect the very bottom fairings all that well.

Definitely an asset to the bike as far as protection goes, but don't count on them 100% to protect your ride from rash in an off.

Thanks for that! I have never tested them so wouldn't know fully. I have seen a few half-faired bikes test them (2 in one day) and their fairings weren't damaged, but they don't have lower fairings...

cool, thanks for the tip guys.
ill check it out. are they difficult to install?

as for the photos i promised, it seems that my digicam got just as drunk as i did on my staff xmas party. Someone spilt some kinda dring all over it so its still "hungover" and unuasble.

Ill post some pics as soon as i can get my hands on a digicam

i dont think the oggy's would be that hard to install, probably just removing a screw on the fairings and replacing it with the oggy knob, not too sure if thats right but it kinda looks that way.
