    hey mate cheers..
yeaah thats true lol im pretty happy about it though!
i tried starting it for first time last night with a battery off a mates bike,
got nothing, just a clicking sound from behind where the batt sits.
i pulled the starter motor out gave it a tap and tried starting again.
this time it started too crank, but wouldnt stop even with ignition off and key out.
    had too remove battery.
ive got no idea really about charging systems on road bikes, can use a multimeter so i wanna try find fault myself before taking too someone.
also the keys broken i have to grab with pliers to turn dunno if thats going to matter
    any help much appreciated!

A free ZXR! I bet there is nothing really wrong with it. Sounds like it needs a solenoid. That one is stuck.
Previous owner said "I've had it with this piece of sh*t. I tried everything. I even took it to the bike shop and they quoted me $7000 to get it running. I'm gonna buy a new Volvo tomorrow. Here take it."

Welcome to the forum. We'll get you on the road, eventually :)

We need a "Dead Motorcycles Check Here First" thread.

yeah im going to get a new one!...
have just pulled the regulator out tho and the blk/yellow wire has come out of the harness!
also the brown wire is just taped up... hopefully a new solenoid and regulator does the trick!!?
    heres a pic regulator.jpg

cheers greyimport.. yeah real dodgy the regulator doesnt mount to the frame properly either, screw holes dont match.
Is that brown wire used on the stock harness for the regulator?
Also are there any other ways i can test the electrics without havin a battery in? Only cos the bikes been draining batteries and dnt want to fry a new one !
    Cheers guys

RR must be a ring in

My harness is in the shed .... Ill try and get out there later and look to see wat that brown does.

I would try and sort the wiring and give it a good check over .... especially the main stuff from battery to solenoid , starter, stator etc ..... then charge up your best old battery and see how u go.

Brown wire is in the middle top .... 3 yellow wires are from the stator and run along the 'bottom' of the plug

Also check your CDI connections and the 'fuse box' and connectors

being serious-the chinese are not as good as genuine BUT the price difference makes them a good alternative.

hey all, been playing around with the bike and have noticed some oil in the airbox as well as in the top of the carbys...
is this normal on zxrs or could mayb be from getting on the back wheel!?
also the starter relay had 20A fuse in it.. isnt the main fuse on these 30A or is this not the main fuse?
found a nice crack down the middle of the old regulator too, and it was half the size of the stock one i got from the huntsman
    heres a few pics
