    Re: MC18 NSR250

    45 stock, 63hp with a tickle :)

This is what I'd like it to end up as, but before we kick off, Phil and i will have a good look at it and determine a plan of attack. What I like about this one is that its complete, donw 21000 kms and it kicks over first kick.. it just needs some TLC!!!

I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

Heading down to Bris Vegas for the week end. Deliver the zxr250 back to Chris and have a look at the latest addition, NSR250.
Think we will have some fun with this project, Having said that I am a tad disappointed, no valves to play with, ONLY JOKING!!!

Had a short ride up the lane and back, ran well but needs revs to show off it's true potential. These are my observations.
Not much room in the saddle department, braked and the boys got connected with the tank, something to watch out for.
Got acquainted with the kick start, am a little spoilt with electric starts. Having said that kicked over 1st kick, idled OK but revs galore to show what it can do.
Have to say that I was pleased with the bike overall, nice looking bike.
We intend to check out it's credentials first, just to make sure everything is in order before cosmetics come in to play.
Fingers crossed we got a good one.

Well I loaded the NSR250 on a trailer and took up to Phil's place on the Sunshine coast, the intent is that Jason from Redline Motorcycles is going to give her the once over and verify there are no major mechanical gremlins, surmising its okay then we start the rebuild. I have already sourced a carby kit for a MC18 for $25 off eBay which I will leave with Phil to fit an play.

The shopping list is vast , first glance this is what we need :
    • Tyres ( front and rear)
      Fork seals
      MC18 Fairing Kit
      Paint the tank
      New Levers

I did take a quick run on the back streets today, even in her tired state, she has some get up and go !!!

    More to come shortly.

    Chris

I am not a supers tiches man at all, but Chris dropped the bike off on 9/11, trust that's not a bad omen.
Tomorrow will be the new start to this great machine, I have a good feeling about this one.
Will keep you posted as to our progress.
