    Hi all

I have a wonderful GSF250, hence why I'm here :) I'm looking at adding a GSF400 to the stable and although I know it's outside the realm here I've found in the past they share many parts. The bike I'm looking at has no second gear. Not sure of the cause, but I'm assuming I'll be tearing the engine down and then searching for parts. Has anyone run into a MIA second gear in the 250? I'm assuming they are similar. Thanks ... and thanks for all your support. This is a great group and you guys are the reason I have 4 quarter litre bikes !!!

Look to the part numbers on CMSnl.com and compare them.

More thinking how much work it is and if it's worth it?

It's an engine out and split job. If you have or can get another running engine I'd just swap them out and keep the one with bad gears for spares, it will save you a lot of work.

Or you end up pulling both apart and making one good one with the bits, which is more work.

For a rare or hard to find bike, it is worth it.
