    Hi all
My Venox 250 has a speedo but no tacho. According to the manual, max power is achieved at 9000 rpm but I have no way of knowing when that is. Does anyone have a way of determining when I'm in the power band (and the best speed to change gear) or do I just rev the crap out of the bike for each gear change ? It does have a rev limiter.

True - but I bought the brand new (2011) bike from a dealer with 2 years warranty for $3990. I guess something has to go for the price. Also thought it was a bad idea to risk a prang on a $10000 bike in the first month because of rusty riding technique.

Looks like there's no Neutral light either. At least there's a side stand warning light!

Neutral, headlight and indicators are attached to a panel on the handlebar. Also, the bike will not start (and engine will cut out) if you put in into gear with the sidestand down.

When you hear the valves starting to bounce, you're nearly there.:D The side stand cut out is found on most bikes today. Nice looking bike.:thumb_ups:

Shows how out of touch I am - I thought the cutout was so cool! It's not a bad looking bike if you're into cruisers and feels substantial with 175 kg dry weight.

Engines are built to rev high ..... you will know after riding it when its time to change up or down and u certainly wont shoot the valves out with a limiter .

I hardly ever look at the tach unless Im cruising at a set speed or Im trying to redline on purpose :D

I think you need to buy a Triumph Rocket 3. You never need to change out of top gear ;).
