Need some help good people, have run out of ideas and solutions to my problem.

Had a 4 to 5 week break from riding the bike due to an operation on my leg.
During this period I worked on my carbs that had been giving problems.
When I removed the carbs no.3 cylinder was full of fuel....not what was hoping to see.
Found that oil once drained contained close to 5L....oil capacity is 3,6L...you do the maths.

Ok, bikes flooding so I pulled the carbs apart again and found the seats O-rings broken and perished
Fitted 4 new ones...4 new needles...and 4 large rubber seals to air box.
Then changed the oil and fitted 4 new plugs as well.
Bike started up, quick adjustment to idle and all was well. I kept an eye on the oil to make sure no fuel was getting in.....so far so good.
Last remaining issue is fuel economy, it is chewing fuel at an alarming rate.
I have found no leaks, no fuel in sump so where is the fuel going?????
I rode down to Chris's place Monday arvo and used just under 12L to cover 130k's
same story on the way home.....I'm at a loss to explain this. Any ideas guys...any help appreciated.

Forgot to mention I replaced the seals in the petcock whilst I was at it, it's working fine.

You could have a point there, Chris cleaned the carbs and I've done them again and failed to check the size, just took it for granted they were correct, thanks mate will check.

i'd make sure the intake valves are closing properly and also that it's not running super super rich like grey said

though if it was the valves it'd probably be running very poorly if it was running at all

Is there large amounts of carbon build up in the end of the pipe? This would indicate the fuel being burnt, but if clean look somewhere else for a leak.
If you suspect a leak (eg, bowls overflowing and draining onto road through hoses) run the fuel bowl hoses into a small plastic bottle zip tied to the bottom of frame.
