Several months ago, my son bought the green ZZR250 from @Murdo .

He recently was finally about to get booked in for the pre-learner course and then successfully did the test for his Learner licence.

But all the while, he and I didn't find the bike very appealing with all that green.

    IMG_6173.JPG IMG_6174.JPG IMG_6211.JPG So a plan was hatched and research ensued ....

In the meantime, though, the bike fell over in the driveway, causing some damage to the fairings. Luckily, @Murdo gave us some spare paint when we bought the bike. So I plastic welded the fairings with my butane plastic welder, cleaned up the damage and resprayed and re-clear coated the fairings. At the same time, working on a design to make it less green.

Found this pic online, so used it as a base to work from to do some vinyl wrapping and graphics designing for the vinyl cutter to cut out all the shapes and sign writing.

Laying out some masking tape to work out a template for the fairings.

We already vinyl wrapped the base of the fairing in a light blue.

    Fairing done.
Previously purchased a Monster Energy Sticker kit - being that the WSBK Kawasaki team is sponsored by them.

Pirelli decal was done on my vinyl cutter as was the blue stripe on the top.

After this pic we then outlined the white with silver pinstriping to overlay the white edging as the white had to be hand cut as my vinyl cutter isn't that big.. I'm now tempted to buy a large cutter to do really big stuff as well.

I then designed some triangular graphics for the tank and had the vinyl cutter cut them out for me as well..

    Not quite finished yet..

Added a darker blue stripe into the mirror area. As I replaced the black mirrors with new OEM ones that I got cheap and now don't vibrate. As well as having proper rear view mirror glass in them and not normal mirror glass on one and rear view on the other - was driving my son crazy getting 2 different views. The new OEM mirrors are metallic purple, so thought the darker blue colour would help to blend them into the bike a bit more.

I need to redo the blue stripe under the headlight as it is not even.

Plus we are still working out some graphics for the side covers.

Also looking at some graphics for the front fender as well - adding some white and blue on there with a green front area.

But I think it is much better now... not so green.

    Thanks Everyone,

Pretty happy with how it is turning out.

It certainly looks good on the road. My son and I went out for some exercise today :) and did a ride through to Moonbi etc.

Was nice to be able to get back out on the bike again and the little ZZR is certainly a lot more noticeable on the road now.

I'll post some more pics once we work out the side covers.

That's a good job done well - Kawasaki make great bikes, but I could never get past the green blast of colour, even Kermit the Frog would likely say, that's a lot of green and it's not easy being green
