OK. Thats it. I'm sick of it.
This bike runs smooth, sounds fine, looks good, and even smells good (like banana fritters - no seriously, it does)

SO WHY IS THE OIL LIGHT ON!?

The damn sensor works. It's not reversed, it looks pretty friggin new actually, BUT IT SUCKS!
The second the bike starts, the light is on. The second it's off, the light is off. We're all guessing.. maybe the oil isn't staying adequately over the sensor while it flows.. or something. One uncle says oil blockage, another says electrical. I can't see symptoms for either scenario. I'm at quite a loss here and its really frustrating because I can't turn the bike on without getting the urge to stop it again. After all if there IS a problem its only getting worse right? Well if so then why does it still start within 3 seconds with no clutch?

    Detective clues:
The light defaults to 'on' when the sensor is disconnected.
The sensor IS hooked to the correct light.
The oil is at a perfect level.
When I start the bike the oil gets sucked out of the sight window (meaning its getting pumped round)
The sensor works when the bike isn't going

The only thing I can personally think of is that some bastard let the wires cross and like.. the oil light is coming on with the ignition.
    I just don't know.
    Desperately needing suggestions, guys.
    Thanks.

What happens when you lay the bike on it's side??

What hapens when you do it when the bike is running??

Have you removed the sensor and tested it outside the bike??

Have you tested it in another bike??

Have you tested another bikes sensor in your bike??

I realy should have a go at this... it would be fun.. KOMA!!! can I borrow your bike??

How far on its side. Standard tilting does nothing.
I might add that the light is on with 5 litres of oil in it... You heard me. Thats how I got it. I think that the old owner just topped it up cos the light stayed on. Well I'm glad I got it all out pretty fast.

Dont have another bike to test it on.
Recently noticed that I dont have a socket big enough to remove the sensor.

Sigh. Due to lack of tools it looks like I'm going to have to leave this to you, TBone. I'd like to do it myself but...

Haha. <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt="" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> ... i think i'll just bring the fairings by themselves down on the weekend. My bike far prefers to be vertical (except in the twisties).
