    Hi all,

Been battling with a Megelli for a while. Changing gears is almost impossible. There is 4 wires coming from the gearbox. 3 yellow and one blue and white. The blue and white one is not plugged into anything. Got the bike second hand and not running. So far all the wiring has been wrong. Wondering if this is causing a problem. Can anyone tell me where the wire is supposed to go? 4 yellow wires from the gearbox, 3 goto the black box and the blue and white one goes no where.

    Cheers Gaz

My guess is the blue/white is the neutral switch wire. Turn the key on and touch the wire to the engine case and the neutral light should come on (check bulb first).
    Three yellow would be alternator.

The 3 yellow ones will be for the stator (one for each phase), could the bl/w be for the oil pressure switch?

will check in morning.that is not the gearbox side. selectors are on rhs, that is the alternator. yellows go to voltage regulator up on rhs under seat edge.is the motor air cooled with fins or a liquid cooled one?

there is a modified gear selector but even then you have nuetral select problems. on the latest motors they have a new gear select shaft but i doubt? if it could be fitted economically. i shift to nuetral coming to a stop.

Its water cooled. Wires come out on LHS of motor and go upto right side next to the seat. (Sounds like to the voltage regulator) one wire splices off. I do have a photo I c an upload when I get to a pc.

3 yellows to voltage reg andblue /white joins through 2 piece plastic plug to blue/white that goes in the plastic corrugated conduit under lhs of petrol tank. green/white wire is in second hole in plastic joiner.joiner is white to grey plastic. hope this helps.you should be able to trace the blue /white from under tank to ignition switch???

Thanks mate, got a chance to have a play yesterday. Couldnot for the life of me find the connector out of the corrugated loom. Thinking that the predecessor may have cut it off...
On a different note.... pulled the clutch apart, found them out of order and some in backwards. When trying to start it again it doesn't try and pull forward like it did, but now have no spark. Nothing electrical has changed. Doesn't make sense. Grr lol.

Hi all, thought I would share the outcome. As for the hard to change gear, the gear change selector was worn badly that the 'pips' in the end were almost non existent. I have included a photo to show what I have done. Spot welds to each 'pip' to build the selector up and then grind down and shape as shown. I know its not the exact shape of the Megelli, but after inspecting how the mechanism works, I went with this design as it will be stronger and less chance of missing gears. I took it for a spin yesterday and all gears work, neutral is easy to find now.
As for the wiring, it was wrong and blew the CDI during the whole process. Anyway, all is sorted now and hope this thread helps someone else in the future.

The wire is the trigger signal. I have the same problem and don't know where it plugs into? Can someone post a photo of the connection into the loom?
