    Hi all,

Was thinking of getting my wheels powdercoated and possibly having my engine Vapour blasted once it's disassembled. Can anyone recommend some shops in Brisbane?

    Cheers

I used a local powder coater on my MC18 rims, but Im on the bayside . Im sure a quick flick through the yellowpages will find someone closer. As for your Vapour Blasting, I have heard through the grapevine that Specialised Blasting Services are pretty good, their website is at wetblasting.net

Thanks Chris. I'll check the wetblast guys out for sure.

I have an old 89 DT200R (the blue and yellow one) at home which was my first bike many years ago and I've never sold it. A few years back I decided to rebuild it for old times sake. I had the frame powdercoated but the quality left a little to be desired. Was hoping to find a place that does a lot of street cars or bikes.

Got my Suzuki x7 frame powder coated alas it was on the Sunshine coast some year back, a tad far to travel.

    Thats the secret Id say...
I had my subframe done at a place that was very ordinary looking (crap everywhere ,bent old sign outfront and looked like they did alot of commercial/industrial stuff)
After talking with the guy and his wife they told me they did lots of them ..... said about $60 ,come back in a couple days ....... he charged me 50 and was the best money I ever spent.....saved so much fiddly work and painting :thumb_ups:

Heres my before and after ..... I had tried paint stripper but it did pretty much nothing as the factory paint is pretty tough and I wasnt looking forward to doing it all by hand .... there was battery acid damage also.
But it looked pretty damn good to me afterwards :) ... I would have had the wheels and other small things done if I didnt have to hurry the rebuild for rego.

That looks like an excellent job. This places name wouldn't happen to start with a B would it?

Ha ha. Tamworth. That's a bit far for me! Nice town though. I was actually thinking of a similar place I went to in Brisbane recently (Beenleigh Powdercoat). Same setup; husband and wife, crap everywhere. Lots of industrial stuff like filing cabinets etc. I just finished building a 4x4 trailer and I've been looking around for places to get it powdercoated and they were one of the ones I visited.
