Last Friday I was ready to head down to Brisbane, Chris rang me mid afternoon to confirm I was coming down, sure am, just waiting for the storm to pass before I set off, clear skies down here Chris informs me! Ok, I'm off. Got to the Caloundra turn off and the bike coughs 3 times??? what was that about but engine roared back to life so I continued on my way. Adjacent to the airport turn off in Brisbane the bandit coughs again and stops altogether. Pull off the highway, it's dark and Friday night traffic is at a peak and I'm stranded by the side of the road, not happy. Got my phone out, switch onto torch and do a quick inspection. To my amazement the fuel tap is in the off position? felt certain I had turned it on early that day. Quick flick to ON and she fired up no problem, strange I had just covered 100 K's + with the tap off . OK, back on the road and just 20 odd K's to go and the bike feels terrible in the handling department? Please, let me get to Chris's without any further issues, MADE IT!!!!! The moral of this story is: Check tyre pressures before setting off and turn the Bloody fuel tap on. In other words, PRACTISE WHAT YOU PREACH....... bike goes so much better with the tyres inflated. end of rant.
Indeed it does, it has been off twice and found to be in perfectly good working order. Guess it has to go a third round.
