While not bike related , I was looking at @DamnitLaverty welds and thought I would share some absolute welding goodness , 2 Englishmen building a mini and shoe horning in an all wheel drive celica turbo engine and running gear nothing short of amazing welding and machining , you would think they are related to @Murdo
I love that program. It’s most of what little television I watch. I could aspire to be able to make brackets like that some day.
Curse you, @kiffsta. I started watch that build, not knowing there are 33 episodes and counting... I didn't what them all, but it's impressive. And I was building a car myself years ago.
What "Off-roading"? the Mini (Blinky) is being built as a road car... and to be honest... it is quite mild compared to some of the weird vee-hicles you see in the US of A Engineering wise... it is brilliant seeing all the detail work they are putting in to make it super rigid and safe but keeping it as close as possible to looking factory original..
@kiffsta - you already owe me most of a morning and if it continues on this trajectory, probably most of the day
I can echo all of those sentiments. Not only does Nik know his stuff, but he is an extremely talented fabricator. You can get loads of ideas and techniques just watching this. Just the jig at the beginning is a massive undertaking.
I found myself getting impatient at point with the attention to detail, BUT then the detail and attention to detail is magnificent Just gobbled the painting episode and I want more also - those guys have done a fantastic job both with the car and he production quality which was good to begin with and has improved steadily - multi-talented
