Qld government are considoring lane filtering , see link for discussion paper and on-line survey

    https://www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/gi/consultation/2067/view.html

The purpose of this discussion paper is to seek feedback from Queenslanders on some possible changes to existing policies for motorcycle riders that could be introduced to reduce red tape and regulation and to create a more efficient road network.

The proposed changes in this paper have been identified through reviewing the current policies, and considering existing Queensland crash and offence data, relevant research, and also what is happening elsewhere in Australia and overseas.

It should be noted that these proposals are not government policy and are for consultation purposes only. The government is seeking the views of Queenslanders before considering the possible implementation, costs and likely benefits of any new initiatives.

    Initiatives being considered

This discussion paper considers three initiatives:

    1. Lane filtering

    2. Motorcycle control

    3. Motorcycle helmets

they should scrap the compulsory helmet law, just so we can tell who are the real c**khead riders.

You should pass this survey onto as many people as possible to ensure the Qld riding community have their say

Brilliant read, I will be offering my thoughts on the matter. And passing this on. These proposals look good.

Well I perused the documents in question and have to admit many, no all of the recommendations put forward have merit and deserve careful consideration.

Being very sceptical of Government agenda's by and large, these proposals are in my opinion valid and require a response from all riders.

Perhaps someone upstairs is at long last listening! For once I'm impressed:thumb_ups:

It has to be cambell Newman's attempt to win back motorcyclists after the extra harassment we have suffered after the bike laws! I ain't complaining as the current laws definitely need a revamp!
