Over the next six months the North Coast Region will embark on an initiative to address an increased amount of motorcycle crashes and road trauma through a Motorcycle Task Force. The Queensland Police Service will strategically deploy a specialist motorcycle squad to each of the six Districts within the Region; these being, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Maryborough and Bundaberg. Each District has committed to providing a vehicle and rider for each of the planned operations in the Task Force and the State Traffic Task Force will assist with resources in due course. Acting Inspector Garth Peake said that the deployment of the Motorcycle Task Force across the North Coast Region has been designed to have major positive impacts on the communities involved.
The expressions trauma reduction and increased enforcement capability do not go hand in hand, is this not another case of the Nanny State looking to restrict individual freedom whilst meeitng ever increasing prosecution targets? Best take care over Mt Mee because you just know they will be there with the radars............cynic, me you betcha. Seen it all before in the UK. It didn't work then, it won't work now and until drastic changes are made nationally regarding licencing and renewal there will continue to be accidents caused by myopic idiots in tin tops. Getting off the soap box and opening a beer before I bore everyone to death............too late huh.......SORRY
