    hi.
    havnt really been on in a while..
    todays idea is:
    would it be possable to fit r1 forks?
    and how hard is it to change the yolk?
    from what i could find, the 2000 r1 forks are either 41mm or 53mm. (not sure which, people seemed not to agree)
    the 3ln are 42mm... i think. its raining so i dont wanna go check.
    so if they are 42, and the r1 are 41... would they just go straight in?

    the travel on the r1 is slightly more i think, but the forks are slightly longer.
    and they are usd. so much better. =p

    also im currantly trying to buy a rgv250 banana swingarm to see if i can get it on.
    the 3ln swingarm is 205mm. the rgv is 215mm i think. but it does have about 20mm of spacer on each side. so if i get it machined down to size it shouldnt make it weak.
    only problem will be the shock i think.

    and finally the r6 body.
    i think im going to get a 05/6 r6 race fairing and put my own lights in. going to do somthing a bit like the ducati 749 lights. but with visability lights as kind of.. almost wiskers.
    and if i have any money left im going to remake the rear end sort of like a buell lightening, rounded and stubby.

    FZR has 38mm Forks.
    The length of the steering stem is the important part - if it's the same length and you can get bearings that fit the steering stem and the bearing race hiolder in the FZR frame then it should be easy to bolt straight on.

    A link to a discussion we just had on the Archives about a thread (now vanished, but saved in the Wiki) on FZROnline; instead of dinking around with pressing stems in and out, use a threaded rod to squeeze two bushings that will align the steering bearing of what ever front end your little heart chooses to install.

    Once my health and finances improve, I'll be swapping in a YZF750 USD front end... <!-- s:alcoholic: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_all_coholic.gif" alt=":alcoholic:" title="Alcoholic" /><!-- s:alcoholic: -->
