2002 R6. how about a dollar per CC? will put the coils back on if you dont haggle sitting here feeling sorry for itself. came in job lot with a 3ln1. was running, as far as i know dropped it in lanecove national park and scared himself. got papers. was sitting under house. no such luxury here! dead battery, couldnt be bothered taking seat off to check odo... busted fairing mounts behind the light. few bruises, as expected. frame looks fine, no busted cases. holding air, I'd still ride like this... wreck, it, rebuild it, i dont care... just take it away! hornsby area. PM me number, will text ya (lousy signal...) give it a week here then its going on gumtree...
or a go kart... shame its totally not ideal for my tuk-tuk... whereas the vx800 lurking in the background is shaft drive, and narrow enough to squeeze between chassis rails i liked the idea of using the english wheel and making some ali fairings. as it is, i know what i am like when it comes to throttles and self control... not willing to risk the license again!
That year model has an eyelet upper and lower unfortunately, not sure on the length of the shock. Given the way that shocks are assembled, the shaft bolting to the eyelet or clevis, it wouldn't be outside possibility to replace the eyelet lower with a clevis, but you'd have to have a clevis to begin with for that diameter shaft and the damping adjustment would have to work still - a very long way to go around for an outcome On the upside, Racetech quotes the spring rate as being 9.3Kg/mm and the FZR250 spring is 9.2kg/mm...
100% correct. i had to look at it last night. and then i had this memory, went out and looked in a crate. i have an identical shockie, eyelet at each end but for the fact that its adjusters are on the other side? which i recall i wanted to put on the 2kr when i did a number on that frame, but it has a fork on the top,iirc... and its eyelet has some adjuster thing attached(rebound?)...be bg tk to change to a fork...(EFF THIS KEYBOARD! "be a big task"... no! the battery is new! looked up and this whole post was just random letters... effin!) there was a reason i didnt use it, and i can see the eye at the bottom, so it wasnt that...
Yeah, the rebound damping adjustment would likely get in the way of such a swap, unless the way they work internally through the shaft is the same at the adjustment end. I just googled FZR250 2KR rear shock - it's got eyelets upper and lower, the upper one is quite wide - if the shock's lenght length is in the ballpark you may have a winner For a 3LN - for someone that had say one of each, eyelet -v- clevis - same manufacturer, just unscrew a few bolts and compare, it's not worth trawling the internet though. Not many of use live local to a friendly wrecker - I know that would be dangerous for me...
i think it was the eyelet is simply too wide on the 2kr? chopped the frame in half, but modifying the linkages i just put in the "too hard basket" or maybe "i need to get this thing back together before bed, for work tomorrow". anyway. bikes gone done been sold... free 3ln1 and $300 profit. bargain guy sends me a pic of it running this morning. lol. at least we're all happy! can close thread now
