    Hey all

For those in melbourne, took the bike out on sunday when it was pretty hot for a spin and after about 30 min i pulled up at the lights put the bike in neutral and after about 5 secs it stalled. No problem. started up again with a bit of work rode for another 10 mins pulled up to a set of lights and then i watched the RPM climb from 3000 up to 7000 on its own. anyone elese ever had this? the ride back home after work was pretty uneventful, at night except it was idling lower not higher now. Consensus always seems to be that carbies are the main prob after readin the other posts but i dont get why it idled at such diff range in one day. anyone else had this??

    Strange... very strange...

The only time I experienced something similar was when I rode off with the choke on. Couldn't figure out why the bike was acting funny. It wasn't until I pulled over, shut it off, and went to restart that I found the problem. Revs were higher than normal with less power, and when I pulled up at lights it came close to stalling.

But as I said it was only similar, not the same... what you are describing I have never experienced.

only thing I can think of is the choke...I had the bike stall on me at the lights yesterday...because I didn't have the choke on long enough..and if u put it on too much then the bike will rev harder.

Try running the bike till its at op temp, then let it idle and change the idling speed...this might help stalling problems at lights.

Had very similar problems when I first got my bike - stalled often at the lights and had a very shifty idle. One time I adjusted the idle screw after starting it up just so the engine would idle properly and not stall, and by the time I got to work (15km away) it was idling at about 5000rpm!
Took it to A1 motorbikes on the Nepean Hwy and they did a full service and carby tune-up - these were some of the things that were wrong:
    - Carbies were full of muck and two of the pilot jets were blocked, and
someone had put two of the float bowls in backwards so they couldn't drain properly.
    - Air filter was filthy
    - Valve clearances needed adjustment
    - Fuel filter was dirty
    - Spark plugs were gummed up
IE. it just needed a good service and tune by someone who knew what they were doing (not me).
Wasn't cheap, but its like a different bike now - good luck.

I had kinda the same thing happen the other day. I road home from school and i noticed that it was reving randomly and that but mine wasnt staying there it was like bouncing up and down and all this. when i got home i checked it and it seemed fine so i ignored it. Big mistake.... I start to ride to work 10 minutes later and i noticed it was doing it again then all of a sudden my bike started jerkin and slowing down and eventually died. i couldnt get it started again eventually i did tho and i took it to the bike shop i go to and i found out today that the regulator needs replace i am not sure if its the same problem u have but yea thats what went wrong with mine

Sandog..with the revs climbing up by themselfs..I know ive mentioned the choke could have been on..but maybe the accelerator cable is stuck? This happened to me when I twisted my grip around by accident...although whenever I pulled the clutch in the thing would rev like a muttha. lol.

Its prob not it but I thought id post it just in case.
