    Hi there,

I have got the fairings ready to go on my bike, but i don't have any of the original bolts so brought a set of ebay but thats just bolts and washers but no nuts etc, and even then i'm still pretty clueless as to how it all goes back together, still think i'm missing stuff.

can anyone help me to find out what i need? or perhaps someone has all the bolts they don't need anymore? i have a new screen but not even sure what i need to bolt it onto the fairing.

i've had to buy another surround for the lights as the original was bent and so was the next replacement, i really want to get it all back together all looking nice but i'm a bit stuck!

    thanks for any help (2KR)

    Liz

The fairing bolts either attach to the brackets on the bike, or to clip-nuts that you'll need to get from Yamaha. No free-standing nuts, except for the ones on the windscreen.

ok so i am definately missing the ones that bolt it to the frame, and looks like i need to get nuts for the screen bolts, the bolts are very small which made me wonder how everyone elses is held on

The windscreen nuts & screws ARE quite small, and are often nylon.

The clip-nuts snap onto the 'under' of two panels, to hold the individual panels together.

then when i finally found a frame for the lights etc that wasn't bent i started to make some progress, and know what i am missing, i basically need these bolts:
they hold the fairing to the frame see here on the back fairing. s

I am missing the FAI tubes that go from the fairing to the tank:

in this picture, there is an old rusty bolt and washer that was previously used to hold the two bottom panels together, what is supposed to be there? also the bolt hole to the right on this picture doesn't seem to have anywhere to attach, is there supposed to be something there?
Finally, the bit of fairing on the bottom by the side stand in this picture.....where exactly is it supposed to go? i don't want to force it

    other than that she is starting to look quite pretty <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

if anyone has any bits that they don't need i would very much appreciate it so i can finish putting her back together, the replacement bolt kit that i got is ok for holding the fairings together but i really need some more of the original bolts, also one of the rubber bits is missing that goes around the hole that the back panel pushes into so it doesn't stay in there nicely, although if i get all the bolts then this isn't a problem really.

    thanks

i have found "tap washers" do the trick for the fairings one either side of the hole should stop a lot of vibration damaging the fairing even more, and the bolt near the sidestand is a tricky little bugger to put in i had to lay on ground to put it in
