So my NSR will be to the point of needing a paint job and the one I'm thinking of is the same as the NSF250 during the unveiling for Moto3. Pretty simple, looks decent. Someone else had the same idea as well and posted to this forum: http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?showcase/725852887.71/ So how much am I looking at for this? I was thinking maybe I could just get the tail done red, and the tank and front cowl (upper and lower) done white, and then use vinyl to do the rest? Possibly clear the vinyl myself?
You'd be looking at close to a couple of grand I reckon. I got my tank done at A1 Motorcycle Paint and Repair on the Goldie. Think it was 6 or 700 bucks from memory but that included fixing a dent in the tank, matching the colours to the Chinese fairings water based paint and blending it into the fairings. Did a really good job professionally and on time. Way better than I could have managed. Got my graphix done at Cutgrafix which is a mob in Brisbane that operates out of a shed on a guys home. Took my tank and showed some pictures and he sized them up to the tank and only charged 20 bucks.
You can contact Bob at Ace of Sprays, he is very good and has done many bikes for Chris and I over the years, highly recommend. http://aceofsprays.com.au/
I actually had him repaint my MC22. Solid gloss black with some decals (normal Honda ones). It was $1k for that. It seemed like a good deal. So when I go back to the GC I might see him again. There was a run in the base coast though, although quite hard to find (My bike fell of the paddock stand a month after the respray so that didn't last long!).
