I want to respray the bike. I was thinking a deep purple with glitter for something original. I was thinking of respraying the wheels too and buying a tinted purple screen.

I want to include another colour though but I can't settle on a theme. The secondary colour will be used for the decals, but I was thinking of respraying the rear view mirrors the secondary colour too, do you think that will look good?

I was thinking white or grey. What do you think?

I'd go with a really light flat grey or white. If you even go for a moderate grey on a background like that the colours would be lost.

But that is my thought...

I need a new screen, my mate picked up my bike while I wasn’t around and dropped it into the side of a parked car. The front faring took most of the force, bent the steel mount and cracked the screen. All in all it came off better than the car and my mate once I finished with him . Anyone know where you can buy a custom screen from??

Thanks for the advice Boz.

Regarding the screen. Lots of places will be able to order them, wreckers, bike shops etc.

hmmm i would do the mirrors in either the same colour as the body or in mat black... but i really havent been known for my taste or style

im actually just finishing off spraying my bike... i chose a metallic blue pearl and i did my mirrors in the same colour.... itll have white decals on it... and i left my wheels white...

dont know if itll look weird yet....

cheers

Do you need the steel mount or is that repairable? If not, as said above lots of places will do screens (just check out a recent issue of a bike mag - AMCN will have lots of ads for them). If you need the mount as well - you may need to look into wreckers...

As for colours - I'm jealous. Throughout my time as an fzr250 owner I had wanted to repaint my bike. It looked ok as it was, and I just never could devote the time to repaint it (and do all the little things like decals). Plus i didn't want to make it look bad - though I have decent design skills my painting skills are somewhat to be desired.

I think I agree with the idea of flat black mirrors.

I was able to bend the mount back into pos. Will have to go down to the newsagents and pick up a few magazines by the sound of it, cheers for the replies.

As for the paint, mmm deep metallic purple white decals and mat black bits like mirrors. Not sure if I would put glitter on my bike.

Good luck with the painting.

ahha....mine being purple...

well....i always reckon pruple n white or purple n black looks the best.
tho dpending the shade of the purple n the colour of ur wheels.
if they r white, go for a dark purple n do white decals.
if they r black then lightish shade n black//silver decals.

i think my pics r still in the ride section under one of the melb rides...

anyway...gl
