Risky bought this from Victoria and left with me for a check over.

The 14,373 miles seem genuine. It is a bit rusty on some bits and is missing both mufflers, front brake lever, fuel tank cap, 250 badges and one mirror but is otherwise complete and original. The coloured bits have been repainted in 'Caterpillar Yellow' and I gave them a couple of coats of two pack clear to brighten them up a bit. Cleaned the carbs, repaired choke valve, oiled all cables, set valve clearances, points and timing, cleaned oil filter and new oil, compression tested (155 left, 158 right cylinder), cleaned tank and fuel tap, fitted new hoses and started on first turn of the starter. Some time spent adjusting the balance and idle mixtures and she starts easy, idles nice and revs clean. Large piece of pipe used to straighten the right footpeg and brake pedal. The forks will need new seals and oil and the rear shocks will no doubt need to be replaced (they weren't much good new and would have not get any better in the last 50 years). The tyres are old, hard and cracked (shame as they have good tread) and will need to be changed before riding anywhere, headlight rim and blinkers have 'road rash' but all lights work fine. A good clean and polish and she will be a lovely bike.

along with a grands worth of parts from david silver and all will be well. found a set of original mufflers in newcastle and have kept the contact details as the seller is turning his bike into a heep of crap- extending rear swing arm and other butchery.as time progresses will get rims rechromed and new stainless steel spokes.wished i had one of these when i was 17 but no money then. probably could have got it cheaper then as well. now to find a honda 90 and a yds2 yammy and will be high as a kite. thanks mate for the check over. all parts on order except for headlight rim. ds had none and cmsnl were a bit silvery on their stock.

Changed the seals and new oil in the forks. The old stuff has been there since Moses was a boy and looked like caramel sauce.
