Looks like Norton are trying to push for a rule change so they can race their 1200cc Production based engine in the Superbike Class.. When I was doing a factory visit 2 years ago they were talking then about trying to have the rules changed once they had the V4RR released and sorted.. Even in 2018 they were still running the Aprillia 1000cc V4 for racing, looks like they now want to use their own engine.. all 210 + HP of it... Sepang 8 hour is on next weekend. I watched a lot of the Suzuka 8 hour this year and it was a very close battle.
