hey all
does anyone have problems seeing whats going on behind them in the mirrors? all i can see are either my shoulders, or if i angle the mirrors out, i see way off to the side....

do i need to adjust my riding position, cut my arms off, or are my mirrors in the wrong positions

cheers

simon

cant really say i have the same problem. Should adjust the mirrors according to the position you spend your time riding in. I tend to stay pretty upright and adjust them so i can my elbows in the inside bottom corner of the mirror. That should let you see who is directly behind you in the lane next to you but doesnt cover your blind spot of course, if thats the area you cant see. if your mirrors cant be adjusted for some reason to suit you, maybe try gettin one of those concave (or is it convex???) mirrors to attach. You'll be able to see everything but it throws your judgement of distance off coz its a bit wharped. looks a bit corny too hehehe

I have a similar problem, I have spent alot of time adjusting them and pretty much have them as best as they going to be. Im kinda broad shouldered so that may have something to do with it.

I usually saw 2/3 shoulder, arm, and elbow, 1/3 behind me. THat is the best I ever got. WHen I needed to see more I would tuck my elbow in and have a look.

Yeah same as me boz. I can see the lanes either side of me sorta ok. But if I wanna see directly behind..I need to tuck elbows right in.

My mirrors are attached to my bar-ends, so I can see a lot, but I have to move my head to look in the mirrors... Also, they're convex, so idiots are closer than they appear...

my vision was the same as Boz, i had to tuck my elbows right in to see behind me.

what i did was take the mirrors off, get a big shifter, place it on the end of the metal supports the mirrors attach to and bend them out a little bit. Now i can see perfectly.

Buggered if I know mate. I put them on, I see behind me... end of story... Although I did hear that in the ADRs, you just need to have a mirror or some device that shows a rear view...

I rode it for about three weeks without mirrors... The really important stuff happens to the front and the sides...

Incidentally, I picked them up from a bicycle shop, they're not even a Motorbike accessory...

What if you had a pillion? That'd be all you could see. In some cases, not a bad thing, but it defeats the purpose.

After 20+ years of riding, I can count all of the passengers I have had on both hands. I too, dislike passengers.
