    Hi Guys...

Looking to try and source 0.01 or 0.02mm thick sheet metal to cut to size myself and fit as a shim on a big end bearing. Anyone know where to get this kind of thing? Have been doing a bit of ringing around but so far no luck.

Same kind of thickness as you'd get for some feeler gauges etc.

Bearing supply shops should have it, or engineering supplies.

Hmm.. most places only stock 10 thou (0.254mm) or at a stretch 5 thou (0.127mm) which is still too much. An aluminium can is just under 5 thou. Best I've found is aluminium foil which is just over 1 thou (0.0254mm). Clearance limit on this particular bearing is 0.08mm and I'm right on the border so I guess that will have to do.
