just wondering, i have a 3LN and just tried to get a road worthy done and one of the things i was dicked for was that the bike engine wouldnt cut out if it was put into gear with the side stand down. I know most newer bikes have this but not sure about the 3ln, dean (grendal) didnt get checked for this but his is a 2kr. Besides other things i reckon i got the dodgiest mechanic in melbourne telling me i needed $1000 in parts to get a RWC (tried to convince me engine tune up and fairings being fixed/re-sprayed was all part of it!!!). what a clown, going for a 2nd opinion tommorow

Dude he sounds like a toss. They're meant to cut out if it's in gear with the side stand down. Duh. Plus you'd need more than a farken tune up if you're spending $1000 in parts!

Get a second opinion for sure, he's trying to get money out of you.

I would head to central motorcycles in hughesdale. They initially got me for not having a cut-out switch, but then they realised that it was complianced without a cut-off switch and let things go... They are also very honest (in my experience) and do not try to pull the wool over your eyes.

You can actually download the RWC requirements from the vicroads website. The common part that needs fixing are brake rotors, and given that you ahve a 3ln there are 3 and each will cost around $150-200 if they are too thin.

i dont know how it is in melbourne, but in sydney, im pretty sure you can register your faired bike if the fairings are off. ie. if you crack the main side fairings...
