So the starter / choke plungers have died on mine, with the expected HUGE air leaks. I've siliconed them some to try to seal them up, with less than brilliant success.

3LN-1410A-00 (-10?) isn't available in Canada; 3EN-1410A-00 (used on some of the 600 and 1000 FZR and YZFs) is. Can anyone comment on the interchangeability of these two parts? They look similar on the fiche, but we all know that means slightly less than the square root of SFA. I'd like to find out without paying $60 to buy ONE to check...

I have seen on this site somewhere that some-one said that "if the part numbers match between models that they are the same" I.E. 3EN-1410A-00 and 3LN-1410A-00 but I won't guarantee that.

    3LN-1410A-10 was for 3LN3 onwards

    Hi, Dave.

Sorry, doesn't work that way. The p/n for the starter on my TZ, for example, is 1RK-1410A-00. 1RK is the bike model number the part was first used on, 1410A is the item (choke plunger, in this case), -00 is the revision. Further example - the FZR250 (3LN1) Engine cylinder block is 2KR-11310-01; the cylinder on the TZ is 4JT-11310-00. It's hard to imagine two more different styles of motorcycle cylinder!

Why am I harping on this? Because I -have- heard people make comments like the one you just repeated, and occasionally gotten themselves bent out of shape with an 'almost' right part...

Old o-rings, gone the way of all flesh...

Doesn't help that the plastic fingers that actually hold the things in place are weak - I've got two of them safety-wired in place!!
