looks like the valve shims in the GSX250F are 7.48 millimeters in diameter according to this web site as the part numbers match what is in the GSX250F manual for shim sizes on page 2-7 http://vicdzen.narod2.ru/Suzuki_7,48.txt there is plenty more sizes that are not listed on the link above. the link above misses out the odd sizes. in case the site above goes down in the future, i will copy/paste the part numbers here for prosperity Code: 12892-05C00-120 1,20 12892-05C00-125 1,25 12892-05C00-130 1,30 12892-05C00-135 1,35 12892-05C00-140 1,40 12892-05C00-145 1,45 12892-05C00-150 1,50 12892-05C00-155 1,55 12892-05C00-160 1,60 12892-05C00-165 1,65 12892-05C00-170 1,70 12892-05C00-175 1,75 12892-05C00-180 1,80 12892-05C00-185 1,85 12892-05C00-190 1,90 12892-05C00-195 1,95 12892-05C00-200 2,00 12892-05C00-205 2,05 12892-05C00-210 2,10 12892-05C00-215 2,15 12892-05C00-220 2,20 it also says the following are 7.48 mm shim sizes 7.48mm shims: RMZ250, DRZ250, GSXR600, GSXR750 93-02, SV650, DL650, RF900, GSXR1000, GSXR1100 93-98, Bandit 1250,GSX1400 im going to download it and try it out. looks like it will work just nicely with the gsx250f. dont need it for a few more weeks, but id like to try it out though download the program here http://vicdzen.narod.ru/Universal_shim_calc_v1.4.exe
i just took this program for a spin and fed some dummy values in to it for the actual clearance measured, heres the text file it game me for results Report file of Shim calc utilite Date: 10-10-2012 Time: 10:02:44 PM Normal clearance for exhaust valves:0.20 ±0.03 Normal clearance for intake valves :0.17 ±0.03 Brand: Suzuki Shims with 0.05mm step, from 1.2mm to 2.2mm Shim diameter is 7.48mm 4 Cyl. engine. II and just so you know, the program runs fine in Linux using "wine"the service manual says tappet clearance when cold inlet - 0.17 - 0-27 millimeters exhaust 0.20 - 0.30 millimeters so when you run the program you need to change the default values in upper left corner to suit what i typed above and your all set to go. yippe, what a great little program
i emailed the program author, to configure it to our gsx250f across, do this - change inlet clearance to 0.22 and +-5 - change exhaust to 0.25 and +-5 and your set!
