So I was speaking to my mate at work about the possibility of a new ZXR250. He mentioned that his brother has a ZXR250C which has been recently serviced and had the fairings painted. Well we got talking and he'd be happy to trade the ZXR for my 250R! Even with the current condition of my fairings...

And of mine (when it was nice and shiny)

    What does 250cc think?

Try and get some cash your way unless the damage is kinda bad.

Also that paint job of the zxr looks like it was the bike equivalent of a closed door paint job, straight over the fuel cap and petcock.

Your bike would be worth more, but the crash damage would lessen its value .... as we discussed that bodywork needs replacing.
If the ZXR is in good shape, runs well etc it would be a good change ...... you will enjoy the ZXR a lot more
Its a pity u didn't get time to ride my Fizzer ..... then I bet u wouldn't think twice

The thing u need to think about is the ZXR is a 20+ yr old bike and u can see by the threads here wat can be a problem or needs attention.

My question would be ...why is he trading his bike?

Test ride it and ring its neck :aggressive:

Good points, between ringing its neck ( they usually actually go alright even when there's problems while ringings it's neck) try some normal riding as well :p

I'll be going around to have a look and test ride not this weekend but next. Would ask more questions about why he is selling etc but we were discussing it on work's time and the boss was giving us the look...

However I was told that it has some flat spot issues that weren't picked up when it was last serviced (8 months ago)

He wanted $4000 for it, told him he's dreaming... There are a number of them on gumtree for less than $3500

Your commuting every day to work. Just get a project ZXR or Fizzer instead. You need a reliable bike, and the Ninja is a good bike. Don't rush it - keep the Ninja and just find a project bike....

I can get one that stalls/cuts out and won't start for $1500

Issue could be inline fuel filter or battery.
