    WTB - Looking for a 250, for a mate. 1000 - 2000 to spend. In sydney, quakers hill area.
    Something like a dinged up FZR250, GPX250 or a ZZR, or a suzuki across would be about right. Must have rego, unless its ridiculously cheap!

    Anyone who has one / knows someone who has one, let me know:

    why do u want one dinged up?? u might aswell save a bit more cause fixing up a dinged one usually cost just as much a buying a good one on the first place, besides parts arent that easy to come by.

    You're not going to get one.

    Let alone road costs.

    Running costs.

    Insurance.

    And if you chose to Safety Gear. (this should be number 1)

    You need at least $6k.

    I was going to say last night.....

    I'm not from around there, but you are more than likely not going to find a sportbikebike for under $2000. Or at least one that is roadworthy.

    but since I don't live there.....

    I've owned 4 bikes in the last 2 years, i've done it before many times, and i'm sure we can find something for my mate.
    Obviously i'm looking to the higher end of that $2000 scale, though. And i admit an FZR is a bit optimistic, maybe a zzr or a gpx.
    Safety gear - he can use my second hand stuff till he buys his own.

    Plently of bikes come up for that price in a post crashed state. Simply spend a few weeks and a couple of $100 to patch it up and your good to go. It takes a keen eye however to pick what will be a cheap fix and what is an endless money pit in the post-crashed world of motorcycles.

    Might i more clearly specify: 'he can borrow my jacket and gloves, and buy his own helmet, until he can afford some leathers. I'm not stupid!!!

    Koma - spot on - that's the idea! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
