I am abit slow in writing this up, but I thought better late than never.

This year was my first year participating in a toy run. ..

I live just north of the starting rally point for the Tassie Toy Run(Derwent Entertainment Centre) and can just about see the main carpark from my dining room. With the sound of all the bikes arriving, the excitment of the day started building from early morning.
I had a little bit of prep work to do - re-attach my fairings, tyre pressure, chain, etc, and most importantly secure(with gaffer tape) the new basketball that I was donating! !!
I rode my 2min trip to the DEC and was pleasantly surprised by the number of bikes already waiting at half past twelve.

Went to sign up with MRA south and do a couple of perv laps. Each time I returned to my bike I was surprised at how many more bikes there were now in the carparks.
In no time at all it was time to head off.
The ride in was a wonderful experience and the good vibes continued for the rest of the arvo(despite the weathers worst intentions).

It was an awesome sight to see nothing but bikes parked down at the wharf.

After a couple of beers in a couple different pubs (and some more perving on bikes) it was time for me to head back to leave this fantasy and return to reality.
Even the ride home was wonderful. Mingling with a bunch of riders heading north along the Brooker.

Will definitely be doing it again.

First time that I have not done the toy run in five years, Bummer..
My mates all went. I had a work dinner to attend that evening. Just a bit far to go in one day and get back in time.

A lot of the Hobart guys head up the midlands or east coast and then ride back just to make a day of it.
